One of the things I get asked most often is how I approach an investigation when I walk through the door already skeptical. When a family tells me their home is haunted, my first responsibility is to them — and that means ruling out every rational explanation before I ever consider a paranormal one. Drafts, structural settling, infrasound, electromagnetic fields, carbon monoxide, faulty wiring — I've seen every one of those things labeled as a ghost by someone who didn't know to look deeper.
